Stephens Associates Consulting Engineers (SA) performed survey of existing condition for 170-foot-long elevated concrete walkways and concrete pedestrian bridge at educational facility for disabled children.
SA measured and mapped locations and size of cracks and concrete spalls, and hammer-sounded surfaces to locate areas of delamination; designed structural renovations and repairs including concrete with and without reinforcement, expansion joints, horizontal, vertical and overhead demolition and repairs; prepared design report, specification and 9-sheet drawing set for concrete repairs, and estimated construction costs.
During construction, SA monitored construction of repairs, including in-situ quality control testing, reviewed contractor submittals and requests for information, and consulted with client.
